Resp & Qualifications
Develops and Implements strategy for the company's product line and is responsible for the product planning and execution throughout the Product Lifecycle, including gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, and defining the product vision. Works with Product Owners, IT, Solutions Architecture, and other stakeholders to prioritize product and customer requirements against the organization's vision and goals, customer service business strategy and product roadmap, and value drivers. Partners closely with engineering to ensure we deliver winning products that meet Plan and member needs. Oversees the product roadmap development process ensuring it includes the UX, design teams, operations managers, engineering managers, and finance teams. Confirms project deadlines with support from the product owners and delivery team to ensure the product development stages meet internal and external stakeholders' expectations. Represents and champions products internall and externally. Also, provides timely and accurate communication of updates to the product's overall deployment. Reports on product performance using latent and predictive data to confirm that product performance meets high-reliability standards. Ensures overall product success.
Leads the entire product management life cycle -Translates business strategy are reflected in downstream product processes. Ensures all stakeholder's features, requirements, and acceptance criteria support delivery and testing of new products and features. May also manage beta programs, manage the development of product marketing materials and technical documentation. Ensure new products align with and supports existing products where applicable.
Leverages market research, customer research, Plan discoveries and other sources as inputs into the product roadmap to determine product viability and marketability. Gathers feedback from customers and analyzes product landscapes, existing products and new technologies. Ensures Product Owners' backlogs incorporates this data in their prioritization processes.
Defines the overarching product roadmap showing the value derived at each delivery of functionality milestones. These milestones do not dictate architecture; they define features or capabilities, normally documented through business strategy and translation of that strategy into workflows, user stories, or required features. Works with customer and stakeholders to identify the MVP (Minimally Viable Product) deliverable.
Responsible and/or assists with go-to market strategy and launches for new products; facilitates product release with product owners, engineering, supply chain, etc.; educates internal and external stakeholders. Will also develops/delivers product presentations.
Facilitates marketing and stakeholder communications for all products including clear ability to translate technical solutions into value proposition.
Works with finance, where applicable, to define revenue drivers and pricing to ensure competitiveness in the market as well as financial profitability in the marketplace
Identifies and documents Market information including competitive analysis, threats, trends and information that would be helpful to management, sales and marketing.
Leads a team utilizing a matrix management system.
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Product Management, Engineering, Information Technology or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Experience: 10 years experience product management and/or product owner experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Estimate Amount: 2-3 weeks/year maximum to customer sites and conferences.
