Strategy & Planning Consultant (Hybrid)

Resp & Qualifications

PURPOSE:

The Strategy & Planning Consultant, who has payer experience, acts as an internal consultant to senior leadership across the organization, providing strategic insights, thought-leadership and decision-support towards addressing our business's most pressing challenges. This position will interact frequently with and support senior and executive leadership.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Strategy Consulting

  • Leads consulting engagements for internal business clients as both a strong strategy consultant and an expert in the payer space. Independently scopes work and develops work plans. As appropriate to the project, conduct targeted research, collect and analyze data, apply analytical and critical thinking skills to distill insights and key findings, craft compelling storyboards to articulate findings and recommendations, and facilitate readouts and working sessions. Depending on the project, work may be individual or part of a team.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identifies and builds rapport with key stakeholders across the org. Collaborates across the organization. Owns relationships with senior stakeholders. Is seen as a healthcare thought leader and expert in payor dynamics. Cultivates external health care industry contacts to inform thinking and strategy consulting work.

Executive Leadership Team (ELT) & Board

  • Leads, as needed, ad hoc and ongoing activities, including periodic creation of points of view on strategic topics; deck creation; offsite facilitation, planning activities, among others.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's Degree preferably in business administration, economics or other analytical field.

Experience: 8 years of experience in strategic planning with 3 to 5 years strategy consulting, internal consulting, or finance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working internally at a payer organization.

  • MBA, MPH, or MS or other advanced degree related to healthcare, life sciences, or other technical field with demonstrated financial and business acumen.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Experience in a high performing consulting, strategic planning, or finance environment, demanding a sophisticated approach to understanding strategic needs, financial/ industry models, competitive trends and business impact.    

  • Demonstrated ability to establish credibility with executives and senior management.      

  • Proven experience in leading projects comprised of multi-disciplinary teams of management and associates at all levels to drive towards consensus and action. 

  • Strategic agility, structured thinking, and intellectual curiosity.

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Ability to organically offer perspectives and insights.
