PURPOSE:
The Pharmacy Business Consultant provides expertise in tailored, strategic, and critical work to help design, launch, and execute programs that support initiatives in the changing pharmacy environment with a focus on medical drug management. This position will work in a matrixed environment across the organization and support leadership.
Although this position is "REMOTE", candidates must live in the MD, DC, VA, PA, DE area in order to travel into the offices for in person meetings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Provide pharmacy subject matter expertise in a particular area (including but not limited to one of the following: program oversight, project management, data and metrics,thought leadership, etc.) that contributes to the effective execution of pharmacy initiatives including medical pharmacy management strategies. Collaborate on the pharmacy strategy, programs and the identification of strategic opportunities. Support cross-functional teams and projects between division, and others to deliver value to the team. Proactively identify ways, means, and platforms to build synergy and mutually reinforcing workstreams to accomplish tasks more effectively across different business functions of initiatives.
Design and run pharmacy dashboards with a focus on medical drug management to support the organization and leadership. Track and report pharmacy impact and value. Review and support task coordination while identifying potential process improvements. Develop and finalize budgets, policies, and other documentation for pharmacy programs.
Build trusted relationships within CareFirst to deepen pharmacy subject-matter expertise with a focus on medical drug management, find opportunities to synchronize, and ensure close coordination with the central team in the execution of their areas of responsibility. Identifying pharmacy opportunities for synergies to improve task execution across the organization. Working collaboratively with other internal and external partners in current and future pharmacy programs. Communicating pharmacy strategy, pharmacy programs, and next steps to leadership and internal and external partners.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor's Degree.
Experience: 5 years experience in business development, operational technology support, general business operations and/or consulting experience.
