Cloud Financial Analyst (Remote)

PURPOSE: 


The Cloud Financial Analyst ensures cloud activities are undertaken in a fiscally responsible manner, partnering with engineers and architects to define and implement the tools necessary to measure and control such activities. Working across the cloud platforms, the incumbent provides the information necessary to appropriately govern associated platforms, projects, and processes and to ensure costs are allocated appropriately. This position will be responsible for data collection and integrity, modeling, analytics, and producing ongoing dashboards to keep leadership informed and enable data-driven decision making.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Provide consultation to management of cloud operating budgets and/or chargeback to internal customers. Present business reviews to senior management team regarding progress and roadblocks on Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) topics
  • Develop and administer reporting and tracking system of all (TCO)-/economic-related activities. Report on project costs and product cost. Develop process for performing and incorporating business value analysis into demand management and cloud customer intake processes.
  • Develop show back, charge back, cost allocation, and budget forecast models. Develop and deliver ongoing analysis of cost and budget trends, identifying drivers of both and analyzing deviations from forecasted costs and spend. Define per-business and per-system requirements for alerting to actual and forecasted cost and spend deviations, as well as the process for responding to such alerts.
  • Partner with cloud architects and engineers to identify, define, and implement: resource tagging guidelines to ensure appropriate categorization of costs, guardrails to optimize cost performance, cost optimization opportunities at the project and platform level.
  • Partner with the cloud product owners to identify and implement an appropriate financial reporting solution in support of the above.


     

QUALIFICATIONS:



Education Level: Bachelor's Degree OR In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience

Experience: 5 years IT Financial Management



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize deadlines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with great attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment
  • Experience in building and operating financial control and analysis systems (cloud cost analysis, showback, and chargeback)
  • Ability to report on financial data
  • Experience understanding how cloud resources are tagged/accounts for
  • Experience providing suggestions about cost optimizations
  • Experience reporting to individual application owners or IT on cost savings ideas
  • Must be able to effectively work in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities, deadlines, and workloads that can be variable for long periods of time. Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.




    Salary Range: $88,488 - $175,747

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilites of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances, including but not limited to experience, internal equity, and location.
