Senior Compliance and Ethics Analyst (Hybrid)

PURPOSE: 
The Senior Compliance and Ethics Analyst will assist the Director of Compliance and Ethics with maintaining and improving the Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program to ensure its continuing overall effectiveness. The position will focus on integrity in all business transactions and compliance with the Code of Ethical Business Conduct & Compliance, policies, and all laws and regulations that apply to CareFirst.  The Senior Compliance and Ethics Analyst will utilize available software performing a variety of tasks to assist with the design, implementation, monitoring and improvement of the CareFirst Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program. The position will plan and lead the implementation of a variety of activities throughout the year to raise awareness of the importance of compliance and ethics. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintains an awareness of corporate compliance and ethics practices, developments and trends, notably within a health insurance environment. Consistently seeks opportunities to improve the Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program and develop a corporate culture of ethics and compliance.

  • Develops, procures, and delivers creative content and useful tools that assist management and associates in understanding their roles and responsibilities in acting ethically and complying with company policies including all laws and regulations that apply to CareFirst.

  • Analyzes, develops and presents internal and board ready detailed reports of data collected from training and conflict of interest disclosures to reveal company and departmental trends.

  • Assists with the new hire and annual Conflict of Interest/Compliance Certification and assists with tracking completion and review of all Conflict of Interest/Compliance Certification forms.

  • Promotes an environment that supports CareFirsts core values serving as a role model for ethical behavior to foster a culture of compliance and ethical behavior.

  • Creates, plans, coordinates, and implements activities for increasing the visibility and awareness of the Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program, including compliance & ethics week activities across the corporation as well as ongoing activities throughout the year to ensure associate awareness of compliance, ethics, values and privacy.

  • Acts as lead liaison with agencies and entities examining CareFirst to evaluate our Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program, gathers, collates, provides and submits documentation as requested/required.

  • Develops, updates and maintains, with assistance from the CareFirst Web Administrator, the Compliance and Ethics intranet website.

  • Assists with new hire and annual mandatory training and assists with tracking completion of all mandatory training courses.

  • Various duties as required to support the Corporate Compliance Officer, Director of Compliance and Ethics, and the Corporate Compliance and Ethics Program.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree.

Experience: 5 years knowledge of ethical, corporate compliance with demonstrated ability to apply elements of the Federal Sentencing Guidelines for organizations and experience with compliance and/or regulatory or legal programs.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge of compliance program development and maintenance.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and shift priorities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. 


Licenses/Certifications:
CHC - Certified Healthcare Compliance  within 1 Year Preferred OR Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP)  within 1 Year Preferred.

Salary Range: $64,800 - $128,700

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilites of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances, including but not limited to experience, internal equity, and location. The associate is primarily seated while performing the duties of the position.  Occasional walking or standing is required.  The hands are regularly used to write, type, key and handle or feel small controls and objects.  The associate must frequently talk and hear.  Weights up to 25 pounds are occasionally lifted.
