PURPOSE: 
Drives enterprise optimization by introducing capabilities (inclusive of all functions) for their domain of responsibility utilizing in-depth knowledge and expert skills to advance domain strategies.  Translates business needs for the domain into architectural solutions that meet performance, reliability and security expectations.  Applies enterprise roadmaps, principles, standards, and practices to drive their domain strategies and execution.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Primary for preparing domain architecture viewpoints and models depicting current, target, and interim states. Use current state viewpoints to identify and analyze pain points and opportunities (PPOs). Perform advanced modeling and analysis to meet the strategic needs of the organization with respect to system, information, functional/non-functional needs, performance and security/regulatory requirements. Create and utilize architecture patterns and ensure alignment with IT strategies and reference architectures. Ensure target state alignment and integration across architecture domains. Ensure upstream alignment / traceability to business needs via business architecture and downstream alignment / traceability with solution building blocks. Lead the extension / enhancement of domain architecture strategies, standards, and guidelines. Identify and support development of reusable domain patterns. 
  • Collaborates on creation design, engineering and implementation of assets for internal use in solutions to improve solution quality; collaborate through implementation phase. Support peer reviews and represent the architecture domain in briefings to the Architecture Review Board. collaborates publishing and maintenance of viewpoints / work products in the architecture repository, ensuring they are organized, accurate, and accessible. Disposition stakeholder comments / feedback received via project and non-project channels. Ensures that regulatory and compliance issues are addressed in solutions.
  • Collaborate with other teams (business and technical), key stakeholders, and partners to understand needs to maximize architecture impact and address technical limitations. Evaluates/selects a solution / product design that aligns with IT / Domain strategies, standards, and guidelines. 
  • Research emerging domain trends to determine their relevancy and fit for the organization.
  • Participates in vendor evaluation and selection process broadly; facilitates vendor evaluation and selection for domain-specific tooling.  Represent the architecture domain in the drafting of RFIs/RFPs and the evaluation / scoring of vendor proposals.
  • Performs development / enhancement of architecture domain methods and tools. Ensure the alignment / integration of domain architecture processes / deliverables with those of other architecture domains and SDLC disciplines. Performs development of domain related communications / education materiel for use with stakeholders and architecture / SDLC partners.
  • Leads domain assessment of new / proposed projects for architecture impacts in support of annual planning, resource estimation, and alignment with IT strategy and enterprise architecture. Provide input to project, product, and enterprise technology roadmaps. Provide regular reporting on progress, issues, and opportunities related to architecture domain.
     

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field OR in lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.

Licenses/Certifications Preferred:

  • Certified System Architect Upon Hire.

Experience: 8 years' experience in Architecture Domain leading architecture initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree; Experience in 2-3 different architecture domains 
  • Position requires very strong written and oral communications skills, including some presentation skills. 
  • Works well under general supervision, with regular review of work needed. 
  • Candidate must be able to work with a broad range of users, business management, and IT management and project leaders. 
  • Candidate must possess professional and negotiating skills as well as the ability to function successfully in a team and results oriented environment. 
  • Use joint application development techniques (JAD) to assist clients with the translation of business rules into data models: Conduct data definition sessions with users; assist with the implementation and maintenance of the data repository; participate and/or assist Management in driving the development, implementation and use of an enterprise data warehouse; provide guidance, education and assistance to the IT and user communities in support of their data access and usage activities.
  • Subject Matter Expert of Conceptual (ER Diagrams), logical and physical database design, data acquisition analysis and design.
  • Subject Matter Expert of multiple RDBMS (DB2, Oracle, Sybase) and the architectural implications associated with each platform.
  • Demonstrated experience in the creation of work plans that lead to consolidation of legacy systems.
  • Demonstrated experience with data profiling and quality assessments with some experience in implementation of a enterprise quality program.
  • Demonstrated experience with metadata creation and implementation of an enterprise wide metadata strategy.
  • Demonstrated ability to distinguish data and architectural requirements at project level; must be able to perform requirements definition, analysis, data pattern analysis and design in support of enterprise data integration efforts.  
  • Knowledge and experience in healthcare industry data and business processes strongly preferred.
  • Deep expertise in Data Architecture best practices.
  • Experience in large and complex data environments involving multiple technology platforms Mainframe  DB2 , Cloudera , AWS Postgres , Redshift.
  • Experience with big data environments, NoSQL databases, JSON and XML.
  • Knowledge and experience with ErWin, data warehouse tools, and the integration of OLAP and OLTP environments.

  • Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.


Salary Range: $122,040 - $242,385

This compensation range is specific and considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilites of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, internal peer equity, and market and business consideration. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range, as compensation decisions depend on each case's facts and circumstances, including but not limited to experience, internal equity, and location.
