Resp & Qualifications


1. Provides research and analysis support to the ASU or division.  Operates as an expert on best practices and process improvements related to the ASU or division.  Evaluates, maintains and improves the efficiency of the organization.  Develops, recommends and implements new procedures, policies and paperwork in an effort to improve the operation of the ASU or division. Researches alternative technologies and methods for reporting to determine the optimal reporting solution. Coordinates requirements review sessions, incorporates  feedback, and obtain needed approvals.

2. Specializes in the reporting and data analysis functions for the ASU or division and uses this information to produce various statistics, and/or quality and productivity metrics related to the ASU or division.  Calculates the value and cost-benefit analysis to support the decision making process for Senior Management.  Provides budgetary analysis and support for the Division.  Responsible for the maintenance and updating of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports. Develops  complex and dynamic custom reporting solutions to satisfy business requests.

3. Responds to senior management inquiries, handles special requests, researches complex issues, develops custom reports/tools to assist management.  Creates complex reports and modifies existing reports based on business need. 

4. Prepares various ad hoc analysis and reports in support of reporting requirements.  Analyzes and interprets data and makes recommendations to improve reporting processes. Defines processes and policies in methods, techniques, and evaluation criterion for designing and developing reports while adhering to the SDLC. Identifies, recommends, and implement s workflow and other improvements. Conducts  periodic system reviews and audits and proactively  identifies  and resolves issues.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:  No direct supervisory accountability, but will lead other associates on department projects or processes.

SCOPE DATA:  Varies by ASU/division, but in general:  Directly accountable for supplying the ASU/division with qualitative and cost-effective information to help guide various critical ASU/divisional decisions.  Recommends process improvements. Types of reports include but are not limited to the following systems:

  • Business Objects
  • Verisk
  • Symposium/Call Center 6
  • Nolan Navigator and/or other Workforce Management tools
  • HCBO
  • CareFirst Direct
  • My Account
  • TRMS


Required:    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, IT or related field, or equivalent work experience and 6+ years of specific experience related to productivity analysis, financial reporting, large scale project management, statistical analysis and/or financial accounting. Operational leadership experience. Advanced level experience with spreadsheet and/or database applications (Microsoft Excel and Access).  Advanced level experience in PowerPoint is required.

Abilities/Skills:  High level of analytical and statistical abilities.  The ability to work independently and with those in various departments and areas not directly reporting to the ASU or division.  Ability to work with and support Senior Management and be accountable for disseminating and summarizing information into a format that can facilitate high level decision making processes.

Preferred:  Healthcare insurance industry experience.
