PURPOSE: The HRIS Analyst is responsible for supporting the PeopleSoft application by working directly with all areas of Human Resources and IT and provides innovative, complex analytical reporting support for the Human Resources division. The Analyst assumes a proactive and reactive approach to research, analysis and maintenance of the PeopleSoft system working directly with all areas of Human Resources and IT. The HRIS Analyst will provide functional and technical support for the PeopleSoft environment, including Core HR, Benefits Administration, Payroll Interface, Employee and Manager Self Service, eCompensation, eBenefits, ELM, ePerformance and eDevelopment for issues, system configuration, ongoing maintenance, and interfaces.
Under the direction of the Manager of HRIS, the incumbent’s accountabilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Data and Systems Integrity: Pro-actively investigates, audit and determines the integrity of the system/data within HR information systems and resolves problems at the individual, departmental and organizational levels. Assist with the on-going development of the HR applications, system administration, support, dealing with upgrades, patches, and other system issues on a daily basis. Establishes and maintains security for HRIS applications. Ensures all user acceptance tests are conducted and documented according to standards. Identifies and documents system deficiencies. Assist with the coordination of groups of Human Resources end users who test, evaluate and validate new functions of PeopleSoft.
Analytics and Reporting: Specializes in the design and development of reporting and data analysis functions for Human Resources and uses associate data to produce various statistics, quality and productivity metrics. Create new, adapt old, or make modifications to reports. Responsible for the maintenance and updating of weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports in order to provide information and insight to executive level management.
Maintain and Enhance Systems: Lead, investigate, analyze and participate on the feasibility of low complexity enhancements, automations, implementations and business processes for the PeopleSoft application. Proactively identify opportunities and enhancements that help to design future Human Resources processes which strengthen the operational effectiveness and system functionality of the PeopleSoft application. Participate in sessions and design reviews in order to ensure design meets Human Resources requirements.
Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience and a minimum of 2-3 years HRIS experience. 2+ years hands on experience in report writing, Query development and data/statistical analysis using SQL/SQR tools. Proficient in the use of Microsoft applications. Advanced level skills in Excel.
Preferred: PeopleSoft 8.9 or higher. XML Publisher. Exposure to BI reporting tools - Oracle, Hyperion. A basic understanding of CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield organizational structure and human resource procedures. Understanding of Payroll systems. Strong functional knowledge of Human Resources business processes (compensation, benefits, learning/development and supporting operations).
