Resp & Qualifications
Creates and promotes a team environment for Customer Service Representatives, Claims Processors and Enrollment & Billing Reps that supports and facilitates the delivery of superior customer service to both internal and external clients. This position contributes to the goals and objectives of the business unit through planning, budgeting, and representing the team’s needs and interests to other departments.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following:
Under the general direction of the Manager of Service or Enrollment & Billing:
Coaches, counsels and motivates associates (concentrating on associate development) to increase quality and production while helping to achieve positive results. Reviews daily audit results and adjustments to ensure quality and accurate claims payment. Provides input and makes recommendations on hiring decisions and completes performance appraisals.
Analyzes and improves current policies and operating procedures/conditions (including workflow management, performance management, inventory management, maintaining communications with other areas within the organization) by making recommendations for process redesign in order to provide the most efficient and optimum client service within the standards and policies of CareFirst.
Assists in management projects in accordance with company, divisional, and departmental goals. Supports and serves as liaison to Customer Service/Claims Processing Manager with other departments and external clients. Represents company with external vendors and clients as well. Full accountability for budget planning and other projects as assigned.
Develops logical and accurate reports to management regarding inventories, inquiries, correspondence, cases and other pertinent information in order to provide necessary information for management of workflow. Provides assistance with product marketing and sales efforts of respective business units in order to increase market share.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: This position can supervise 10-20 Customer Service Reps, Claims Processors and/or Enrollment & Billing Reps as well as additional clerical staff. This position is a stepping-stone to management.
This position requires 5+ years of supervisory experience (progressive in nature) with knowledge of the health insurance industry or CareFirst system specific experience. Extreme proficiency within the service, claims and enrollment & billing operational unit is required. Must have at least 1 year of project management experience.
Must also have strong analytical and problem resolution skills, strong communication skills, interpersonal/leadership skills, and be able to motivate. 3+ years PC skills or related technical skills also required. Must also have strong presentation and delivery skills as well as developed project management skills.
Extensive experience (5 - 7+ years) with CareFirst systems.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field
2+ years of project management experience
