Please Note: Based on qualifications, education, and experience, the preferred candidate may be hired at Account Contract Technician level I or II.


Under the direction of the Supervisor the essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

1. Writes and audits group account specific contracts and certificate language for risk and self-insured accounts (ASO) using established models and templates on up to two platforms. Maintains and loads contract upon audit completion onto the file/library; other documents to ensure contract integrity.

2. Reviews, clarifies and/or interprets customized/nonstandard benefit requests; provides information and decisions to operations (sales, SOCS) account implementation meetings, and other company initiative implementation meetings needed. Clarifies and ensures consistency of contract benefits with respective system benefit coders (Care, NASCO, FACETS).  Updates, contract models and templates as appropriate and assigned.

3. Reviews requests (standard and nonstandard type) and interprets benefit issues; provides contract interpretation, information and language; raises complex issues to Senior Contract Specialist for resolution.

4. Maintains and updates all department logs, contract and certificate forms; implements (places into production) newly approved contract forms. 



  • High School diploma or equivalent and 1-2 years of Contract experience, and 2 years of industry experience in Enrollment, Contract work and/or previous clerical experience.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously; project management.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience in a related field.


  • Proven judgment and decision making ability; must be able to make and carry out a broad range of decisions while remaining consistent with Company and regulatory guidelines.
  • Proven superior verbal and written communication skills.
  • Establish appropriate priorities; manage multiple priorities and respond appropriately to unplanned events.
  • Ability to represent the department persuasively and articulately in meetings with other Company departments, regulatory/insurance agencies and external clients and partners.
  • Flexibility with superior negotiation skills; ability to build towards consensus with a broad range of individuals and Company.
  • Superior organizational and follow up skills.
  • Average to above average ability with Microsoft Office
