The Associate Engagement Specialist is a key member of the Workforce Strategy & Management team and will support the development, coordination, and execution of communications plans designed to keep employees informed, engaged, and motivated. This individual will help manage the day-to-day communications efforts of corporate initiatives and home grown events focused on employer branding, employee engagement and community engagement.
Assist in establishing an internal communications strategy in partnership with the Manager Workforce Strategy & Management to ensure company policies, initiatives, and events are clearly and successfully communicated to Associates and Contingent Workers
Edit and write content for internal communications (e.g., stories, letters, presentations, brochures, scripts) for a variety of audiences, and mediums, including email, staff intranet, e-newsletter, and social media
Ensure internal messages are consistent across all mediums and for different departments of the company
Supports systemic initiatives as directed by CareFirst and FEPOC to manage community engagement
Assists with establishing effective outreach and engagement programs to enhance brand awareness
Recruit key contacts to events and staff in-person events
Manage and track all metrics related to budgetary expenses etc.
Excellent writing, editing, proofreading, and analytical skills, as well as the journalistic ability
Manages all phases of the project life cycle process, which include monitoring progress, serving as resource to divisional management regarding the project, preparing documentation for appropriate management, executive staff, and various committees, preparing staff updates as required for various committees and various levels of management. Manages the project work (task, sequencing, milestones, risk, and contingencies) to ensure that the project is launched on time and within time constraints. Review detailed plans to ensure that the implementation meets defined expectations and are in accordance with overall goals. Works closely with Sales and External customers to communicate activities related to account implementations for both new and renewing business. Acts as the point of contact between the Account Liaison and the Sales/Customer base to ensure all communications provided are thorough, accurate and timely.
Provides direction and motivation to multi-disciplinary project team. Works with a team of managers and analysts to set priorities and ensure proper communication across divisions. Troubleshoots problems and resolves issues.
Acts as a liaison across all areas to ensure effective and efficient goals, scope, progress, and completion of projects. Coordinates issues throughout CareFirst, and externally when necessary, to promote accurately represented information.
Ensure documentation is developed and maintained to support progress of project. Drives the development of workflow process to manage the impact of various projects on multi-departmental workforces and their daily activities. Oversees daily, weekly, and quarterly progress updates of all projects and data when necessary.
This position has no supervision over others, however, may coordinate a project team of 5-10 associates depending on the project.
Required: This position requires a four-year degree in a business or related area and/or equivalent work experience with 1+ years of related project management experience in a large scale, cross functional, multi-system environment.
Flexibility and the ability to work under time constraints, adapt to shifting priorities, to work independently as well as part of a team are required.
Abilities/Skills: This position requires excellent project management skills including but not limited to cost/benefit analysis, risk assessment, work plan development and management. The incumbent must have well-developed interpersonal skills and the ability to synthesize information quickly. The incumbent must have excellent analytical skills, excellent organizational and coordination skills. The incumbent must have effective presentation, negotiation and influencing skills to interface with all levels of management. The incumbent must be able to apply complex problem solving abilities to achieve problem ad process solutions.
