Marketing Intern

Resp & Qualifications

CareFirst Administrators (CFA) is a Third-Party Administrator (TPA) owned by CareFirst Blue Cross Blue Shield. The Marketing Communications department manages internal and external marketing communications and sales proposal development. 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Coordinate and prepare sales proposals
  • Write responses to requests for proposals and questionnaires    
  • Support marketing and proposal related initiatives such as, event ticket management, print request coordination, promotional item ordering, meeting coordination and attendance, development and maintenance of SOPs
  • Assist with creative on sales presentation and marketing materials using PowerPoint and Adobe Creative
  • Support other marketing and proposal related work, as needed

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Attention to detail with strong analytical/problem solving skills
  • Sound organizational and time management skills, including ability to set priorities
  • Flexibility and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously, in a fast-paced environment with frequently changing priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to positively interface with and establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external clients.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including assisting with presentations and proposals.
  • An independent means of transportation. Local travel may be necessary.
  • Demonstrated skills with Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION:

Required This position requires an individual working towards a Bachelor’s or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in their senior year.  Must have a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.  We are looking for students seeking degrees in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing or related field.

We are looking for students who can work up to 15 -20 hours during the academic year and 40 hours during the summer.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential duties and responsibilities of the position successfully.  Requirements may be modified to accommodate individuals with disabilities.

The employee is primarily seated while performing the duties of the position.  Occasional walking or standing is required.  The hands are regularly used to write, type, key and handle or feel small controls and objects.  The employee must frequently talk and hear.  Weights of up to 25 pounds are occasionally lifted.
