Customer Insights Intern

Resp & Qualifications

CareFirst is looking for someone who is a self-starter and can work independently with little direction. Additionally, CareFirst is looking for someone who can commit to at-least three days per week. Full-time is preferred. Analytical skills are important. Ability to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and the Internet required. An interest in healthcare and good problem-solving skills is essential.The candidate must be a student.

 

 

The intern is an integral member of the Product/Segment Management Team, located in the CareFirst Strategic Marketing Department in Owings Mills.

This position may include the following duties: Analyze market and segment competitors; Market research on segments and products within the CareFirst geographic region; Understand insurance products in-depth; Formulate excel spreadsheets and calculate comparisons; Create graphs and charts to demonstrate marketing strategy;  Create PowerPoint presentations and attend meetings.

 

 

CareFirst runs a year-round internship program.  The ideal candidate is someone who can work throughout the year – up to 15-20 hours in the Fall AND Spring AND full time in the Summer.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

·      Majors:  Marketing or Business; Strong research skills-ability to search internet and have a desire/interest in healthcare

·        Must be a student enrolled in an accredited college or university at either the junior or senior level (undergraduate or graduate level)

·         GPA 3.25 or above

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills

·         Must be able to work independently to accomplish assigned tasks

·         Experience using Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access) and the Internet
