SUMMARY: We are transforming how we communicate and serve our customers. The cornerstone of our service delivery is our digital communications, collaboration and knowledge management solution -- BlueWeb. BlueWeb is the portal that our 36 BlueCross BlueShield customers access information and services to support their operations. As Product Manager, you will lead BlueWeb operations and maintenance as well as the delivery of new and enhanced features and functionality to support our digital strategy.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Under the general direction of the Director, Customer Strategic Planning the incumbent's accountabilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
The incumbent will own and maintain the product roadmap in alignment with solution vision. Providing strategic, tactical and day-to-day guidance to ensure solid business solutions, architectures and designs. Provide the direction, guidance and leadership to define new requirements or enhancements to existing features and functionality. Accountable for the success of the product. The Product Manager works directly with the business owner with input from users in defining the high level business requirements as per the established strategic roadmap.
This role will be responsible for working directly with user groups, Product Owners, Project Managers, Architects and technical SMEs and other team members to discuss the technical feasibility of business requests, and to come up with the workable solution. S/he will work with the respective business stake holders to define the Epics and features for the product, and determine the priority. The successful candidate will provide direction and support in defining the Minimal Viable Product (MVP) for the Epic and/or features.
2 Product Management and Delivery; Enhancement, Operations and Maintenance
Oversees Agile product management and delivery team responsible for identifying, designing and building features and functionality. Accountable for successful execution of the entire Product Management Lifecycle, including leading product ideation, planning, marketing, designing, development, optimization and retirement. Ensures that solutions are sound, lasting, achieve stated business goals/objectives and reflect industry best practices. Success will be measured by the health of the product, business valued delivered, delivery predictability and Agile maturity, budget management, product usage and user satisfaction. Also responsible for leading the ongoing solution health and maintenance.
3 Stakeholder Group Ownership and Management
Establish and maintain effective channels and metrics for understanding user behavior, requirements and opportunities. Build collaborative environment for engaging and co-creating with end users and establishing user feedback loops. Build enthusiasm for the vision and roadmap with end users. Effectively work with sponsors and stakeholders to ensure alignment around vision and roadmap and transparency on progress in execution and delivery.
4 Leadership, Management and Process Improvement
Directly manage Product Owner and Webmaster. Provide guidance and coaching to team members who are new to Product Management, Scrum and Agile practices. Engage with business stakeholders as needed to educate and impart information regarding Product Management and Agile delivery methodologies. Provide input and champion Product Management and Agile process improvement initiatives based on team/external feedback.
Advocate and support culture changes to improve digital product delivery agility. Support onboarding of new team members. Support team building and team development by recognizing and utilizing the strengths, abilities and skills of individuals. Foster an egalitarian environment that breeds mutual respect, recognizes individual contributions, and encourages participation in the Agile processes.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Science, Marketing, Business, or engineering or equivalent work experience required. Overall, a minimum 10 + years or equivalent of IT and business experience in strategic planning, business analysis, system analysis, technical design/development, implementation, and maintenance of systems, preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms. Minimum 6 years or equivalent of previous Product Management experience in a dynamic technology environment. Prior management or demonstrated leadership experience. Working knowledge of Systems Development Lifecycle and the Project Management Lifecycle.
