This high-level position is responsible for the leadership, transformation, strategy and execution for one or several assigned category families. This role develops and maintains deep category expertise, translates category improvement targets into viable category plans while executing supporting activities (e.g. sourcing projects, contract management, category analysis, and category implement improvement plans).This position will influence the renewals process, garnering business owner support through the use of market analysis, supplier performance metrics and spend analytics with the goal of helping both the business and procurement to function in a leaner, faster and more effective manner.
Define and drive strategies for one or several assigned category families including maintaining category expertise, translating improvement objectives (efficiency, savings, etc.) into viable category plans and defining the sourcing strategy to follow early in the project. Develop relationships and collaborate with Business Units to formulate category strategies and business cases that streamline procurement processes, drive cost savings and improve the ability to monitor supplier performance and manage the supplier relationship.
Conduct sourcing events for one or several assigned categories in area of oversight. Develop and maintain market information on suppliers, spend analysis and identify a preferred and qualified supply base. Create documentation and correspond with suppliers in regard to execution of bid events. Develop selection criteria, select suppliers in conjunction with cross-functional team and conduct supplier negotiations
Support the development of cross-functional category teams including identifying internal customers and key stakeholders for inclusion. Lead these cross-functional teams toward a common goal which streamlines supplier relationships and improves overall supplier mix for the organization. Interface and collaborate with internal customers to understand requirements, handle demand management and resolve supplier related issues. Engage with key stakeholders Information Security, Third Party Risk Management and Legal for inclusion in sourcing strategy development and execution.
Coach colleagues, and category team members, transfer knowledge to procurement team and vendor management team to promote a unified category strategy across Strategic Sourcing and Procurement. Develop team members to be more effective in their current roles and consistently seek streamlined ways of doing business, while maintaining procurement policy. Define the business requirements with the business. Determine the best approach to support the business and mitigate risk, while streamlining the procurement process.

Education Level: Bachelor's Degree
Education Details: Business Management or related field
Experience: 10 years of relevant functional area (e.g technology) experience or other applicable procurement focus.
In Lieu of Education
In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
