The Talent Acquisition Manager reports to the Director, Talent Acquisition. The position will develop, manage, and execute innovative recruiting strategies that will identify and attract top talent to CareFirst. The Talent Acquisition Manager will be expected to lead and develop a team of high-performing recruiters to deliver exceptional performance by establishing a culture of accountability and excellence. The Talent Acquisition Manager will work in an environment of ambiguity and sometimes competing priorities, making adaptability and flexibility essential for success. The Talent Acquisition Manager is an innovator and encourages the team to embrace change as an early adopter. The position is a champion of our Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion strategies and drives recruiting programs to support these initiatives.
The Talent Acquisition Manager will have the following key responsibilities:
Partner closely with business leadership and HR colleagues to assess current and future workforce needs and develop and implement innovative recruiting strategies and techniques to build a pipeline of qualified candidates to support those needs.
Working with the Director of Talent Acquisition, provide professional expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of a best-in-class talent acquisition process that results in an exceptional interview and onboarding experience.
Maintain and utilize a deep understanding of market channels to advise hiring managers and business leaders on emerging market trends and competitive best practices. Utilize data and insights to inform decisions, and report results to business and Talent leadership.
Manage recruitment and selection activities for executive level positions.
Develop a high-performing recruiting team to carry out scalable high growth recruiting strategies.
Manage, coach, and lead a team of recruiters to deliver excellent performance and achieve short and long-term organizational goals and objectives. Drive accountability by establishing and communicating performance expectations, monitoring performance, identifying and addressing gaps, and providing consistent feedback.
Continuously evaluate team workload and appropriately assign priorities.
Identify interview slate gaps and diversity development opportunities, partner with internal DEI team and hiring managers to identify priority areas and drive diversity recruiting strategies.
Continuously assess talent acquisition process and recommend and drive process improvements as necessary.
Lead and/or participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives related to talent acquisition.
Proactively build and maintain strong, collaborative alliances across HR and other functional partners in the recruitment process.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to quickly build credibility with stakeholders, along with the following competencies and experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field; in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree, 4 years of additional relevant work experience
5+ years’ experience in Recruiting/Staffing in a corporate and/or agency environment, with increasing responsibility
1+ years’ experience direct management of recruiting team. Exceptional track record of building, managing, and coaching a high functioning Talent Acquisition team
Strong sense of urgency and ability to work in fast-paced, ever-changing environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience partnering and driving change with senior level management.
Successful track record of driving process improvements.
Experience working with recruiting tools and systems, including resume databases, internet sourcing tools, and spreadsheets. Proficiency in MS office
Experience analyzing and interpreting data and translating analysis into recommendations.
Strong project management, organizational, and technical skills.
