The CareFirst College Relations Program provides opportunities for talented, highly skilled potential candidates to work on a variety of corporate initiatives and projects that impact the business while acquiring an overview of how decisions are made at the top.

All interns receive ongoing mentorship and training throughout their internship experience. Mentors and business owners will help you identify your project goals as well as give offer advice and guidance on your professional development. Our internship program isn’t just a job—it’s is a partnership where you can expect to:

Available positions are posted in our job search tool. We also post internships with college career centers and attend numerous career fairs and employer events throughout the year. Interns are paid a competitive hourly wage and internships range in length according to the time of year and your academic workload:

  • One semester at a time, spring and fall: Spring and fall interns are expected to work up to 20 hours per week during the school year. We remain flexible regarding to the hours worked per week since your priority will be academic success.
  • Summer internship program: Our summer interns work up to 40 hours per week.
  • Please note that we prefer internships that run year-round part-time in the Spring/Fall and full-time in the Summer.

Qualifications

For our internship program, we are looking for candidates who meet the following criteria:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university at the junior or senior level in either an undergraduate or graduate program
  • 3.25 GPA or above
  • Majors and required skill sets vary depending on the business area
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint
